Our church is officially recognized as a "Welcoming Congregation" by our denomination. That is, we publicly and successfully welcome Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender people and their Allies (LGBTA) by including and addressing their needs at every level of congregational life. Our Welcoming Congregation Committee plans several services each year which address and celebrate LGBTA issues and history.
The committee also hosts a booth at the annual Pride Festival which is held in Lincoln and actively participates in the Standing on the Side of Love Campaign working for Marriage Equality and Immigration Reform that unites us - not divides us.
The LGBTA Welcoming Committee proudly sponsors PFLAG Cornhusker, www.pflagcornhusker.org
Committee meetings are held the 3rd Sunday of each month at 11:30 in Room 3.
For more information, please visit the Welcoming Congregation Page on the UUA web site.
