Getting Involved

Worship, learning, service and social activities are all important aspects of our religious community. We come together in many ways to offer mutual support on our various journeys, and to work together to build a better community, both within and outside the church. We welcome you to join with us.Getting Involved

We worship each Sunday as a way to nourish our minds and spirits through reflection, through connection with one another and through our reverence for the mystery and beauty of life.  Our services vary in style. Many follow a traditional structure. Others, led by adult members or youth of our congregation reflect alternative meaningful worship experiences.  In all services, readings and music are drawn from many sources of inspiration.

We maintain a meditation room as a place to find a silent time for reflection and worship.

We also offer the opportunity for learning and for exploring stimulating ideas, some groups meeting regularly and other activities meeting one or more times throughout the year. Open Circles, a Book Discussion group, and the Sunday morning Forums are just a few of the activities that give us opportunity to explore new thoughts and ideas.  Specific dates and times are included in our newsletters and the Sunday morning Order of Service.

Each of our talents and skills is needed in small ways and large to keep our church functioning, and there are many ways to give service. We have numerous committees which utilize the many talents of our members in order to accomplish specific tasks. We also have general activities which give us all a chance to give back to our church and to our larger community. Giving and receiving are simple gifts benefiting both the giver and receiver, and we welcome you to become involved.

Of course, like all church communities, we often just get together for the fun of it. Some of our social activities, like the 6300 Dinner Club and the Men's Potluck, happen on a regular basis. Others occur on an annual basis and/or when the spirit moves! By watching the newsletter and Sunday bulletins, you'll be able to find out about those activities which might be of particular interest to you.
