Upcoming Sunday Services

May 11 — “To Love Out of Emptiness”

Three months before receiving the Nobel Peace Prize, Calcutta's Mother Theresa wrote her spiritual confidant, "Jesus has a special love for you. As for me the silence and the emptiness is so great that I look and do not see, listen and do not hear." Yet Theresa could teach us, "it is not how much we do, but how much love we put in the doing." Can she teach us, as well, the resources of emptiness?

Speaker: Fritz Hudson
Music: UU Women's Ensemble

May 18 — “Beauty Deeper Still”

A Share-the-Plate Sunday

Springtime's beauty, for all its pleasure, may be a bit too easy on our soul. Laziness may have limited spiritual value. Still I wonder if this season's ease can train us to see beauty, less apparent, year round.

Speaker: Fritz Hudson
Music: Bill Zieg, piano; Christina Buchholz, piano
Share-the-Plate Recipient: Interfaith Housing Project

May 25 — “Give Our Deaths Their Meaning”

How do you honor those with the discipline "to march into extreme danger to carry out wholeheartedly a mission about which you yourself are deeply skeptical"?(Garrison Keillor) Is there a warrior spirit civilians are called upon to honor even in opposition and protest"

Service Leader: Paula Ray
