Town Hall Meeting re: Kitchen Renovation — June 29

THE CHURCH KITCHEN RENOVATION COMMITTEE now has a plan from a general contractor and invites you to attend a Town Hall Meeting June 29th following Sunday Service in the Auditorium.

The committee members include Jackie and Bob Egan, Harry Heafer, Jack Furgason, Cyn Monohon, Peg Pelter,
Penny Urwiler, and Orvis Wall.

Look on the Fireplace Sunday June 22 and Sunday June 29 to peruse what we have come up with. Committee members will be at a table to answer questions.

Self Study Discussions Continue

The self-study committee is holding a one-hour forum after the church service on June 22, at 11:30am. We’ll take some time to talk about all the things we like (or love) about our church, then we’ll watch a 15-20 minute DVD on the Portland, Oregon breakthrough congregation and talk about some of the things they do.

AV and Sound System Training Available

Volunteers are needed to run the sound system on Sunday mornings. The task is not difficult and friendly training will be provided. Willing folks should contact Becky Seth at 475-7978 or becky_seth@hotmail.com.

UUSC Announces 2008 Freedom Summer: A Civil Rights Journey

Unitarian Universalist Service Committee is excited to announce the 2008 Freedom Summer: A Civil Rights Journey, which will take participants to the front lines of the U.S. civil rights movement of the 1950s and 1960s.

UUSC's fifth annual Civil Rights Journey will include stops in Atlanta, GA. and Montgomery, Selma, and Birmingham, AL. During this intergenerational camp, we will travel by bus to historic sites and hear inspirational stories from courageous people who participated in the movement.

The Civil Rights Journey will conclude with a two-day community-service learning project that will take place in Birmingham, AL. Participants will work with community-based human-rights organizations.

Attention RGL CHILDREN'S ART FESTIVAL ARTISTS:

Please pick up your beautiful works of art in the "fish bowl" room on Sunday 6/15. The room will be cleaned and art removed by the following Sunday.

Parents' Discussion Group

Parents' Discussion Group will meet Friday 6/27/08 6:30PM -8:00PM. Topic for this meeting: From Waldorf to Home School, Alternative Education and the UU Parent. This group is open to all parents and interested others. Childcare is provided. Questions: Hope 438-2213

June Programs for 2008

Important note for parents: During our Summer Programming Sundays please sign in your child (6 yrs. and older) before the service with the RGL Greeter. Please pick your child up immediately after the service and be sure to sign them out.

Younger children must be signed into the Nursery-Kinder-care as always. Children younger than 6 yrs. are welcome to attend the Summer Arts Program with a parent present.

Religious Growth & Learning Committee Meeting — June 29

The RGL Committee will meet on Sunday, June 29, at 11:45 AM in the Gathering Place.
