CARING CONNECTIONSCaring Connections has a multi-layered approach that includes Friendly Faces, Lay Pastoral Care, and Helping Hands.
FRIENDLY FACES This group of volunteers keeps ongoing contact with some of our longest term members to help them stay connected. PHONE BUDDIES A small group of people who have been recruited who call members to help them get registered for Sunday Services when the covid dial is in yellow. This ad hoc group will be disbanded as soon as we are not required to register for services. HELPING HANDS This group of knitters and crocheters make baby blankets and shawls which are given to members and friends. There is a special project this year for the 150th Anniversary. READ MORE. LAY PASTORAL CARE The Lay Pastoral Care (LPC) Team supports members and friends of our congregation in times of celebration, transition or crisis with gifts of time, thoughtful attention and deep listening. Lay Pastoral Care Team members have responded to many of our members and friends who have needed support during times of difficulty, even though we have not been able to meet due to COVID restrictions. LPC Team members provide listening ears and support via Zoom, telephone, email and text, until such time as limits on personal meetings have been lifted. The quickest way to get in touch with someone from the LPC Team is to email pastoralcare@unitarianlincoln.org or use the JOYS AND CONCERNS FORM on this page which goes to the same email address. In addition to making contact directly with the LPC Team, if you would like to set up a time to speak via Zoom with our Settled Minister, the Rev. Oscar Sinclair, click HERE to make an appointment. If you need financial assistance, please email our Administrative Director Jean Helms to discuss the availability of Discretionary Funds. |
