Yule Celebration Saturday, December 17 • 6:00PM • Gallery To celebrate another turn of the Wheel, the joint UCL and Red Grail Yule party will be celebrated on Saturday, December 17. This is a laid back time with a gift exchange game. Bring a wrapped gift that is recycled, repurposed, or upcycled. If the gift is for a child or adult specifically, please mark that on the wrapping. Potluck is welcome. Individually wrapped items are requested. Bring your own plate to avoid kitchen use. Disposables will be available. There will be some items for purchase to fund our Red Grail ministry since we are separate from the UCL budget. Stranger Share Our Fire Sunday, December 18 • 10:00AM • In-person and livestream on YouTube (links in eblasts) As we gather gifts and donations for our partners in the community, we manifest the interconnected web of which we are a part. We will have tables set up in the front lobby Tuesday, December 13 to Friday, December 16 from 9:00AM to 3:00PM. Thank you for your donations of: • Packaged Foods for the Eastridge Food Pantry and our Little Free Pantry (non-perishable dry goods and canned foods) • Warm Winter Items for CenterPointe and Community Action Program (all sizes / adult and kids / jackets, scarves, mittens, gloves, hats) • Hygiene & Household Items for Fresh Start (Kleenex, toilet paper, disinfectant, laundry soap, deodorant, body wash, bus passes, gift cards) • Cash Donations for the NAACP. What better time for aromatic coffee and succulent chocolate? To seduce your senses and satisfy your righteous sensibilities, the Social Justice Committee is returning with the Holiday Coffee and Chocolate Promotion.
Several flavors of Equal Exchange fair trade chocolate and coffee are for sale beginning November 20 through December. Chocolate bars are $4.00 each in flavors ranging from Dark Chocolate with Infused Orange to Milk Chocolate Caramel Crunch with Sea Salt. Both regular and decaf coffee are $10 per bag in favorite flavors from past sales. Limited quantities are available, so get yours soon! Proceeds from the Holiday Coffee and Chocolate Promotion will benefit Citizens’ Climate Education, a nonprofit sister organization of Citizens’ Climate Lobby that empowers people from diverse backgrounds to educate key stakeholders, policymakers, and the general public about effective solutions to climate change. Buy your coffee and chocolate here to support education for climate change! Join us for an all-ages, family-friendly evening of food, fun, and festivities to celebrate winter holidays. There will be a potluck, music, crafts, and stories. Look for a sign-up sheet in the gallery on Sundays before and after the Sunday Worship Service to bring soup.
