“Democracies are threatened by the climate crisis and must evolve to meet the challenge. In order to help them do so, we all need to actively participate”. (The Future We Choose)

40 DAYS LENTEN CARBON FAST

Carbon Fast action theme for this week: Advocacy – ultimately our most important action. There are a number of climate advocacy groups active locally. Choose one and become active.
  • Citizens’ Climate Lobby advocates for bipartisan federal legislation on climate change from a position of respect.
  • Nebraska Conservation Voters advocates for Nebraska legislation and political candidates.
  • Wachiska Audubon is becoming more advocacy-centered and works for bird and prairie preservation, and personal plantings to support both birds and pollinators.
  • Interfaith Power and Light facilitates the faith community’s response to climate change.
  • Be involved with the Lincoln Action Plan. Contact your city council member and register your support for the plan.
